So Much Joy
A backyard wedding
After the storm
Sun awakens new spring green
Vases of red roses and eucalyptus
Balloons float on air
Bride in fur
Groom in linen
Family together
Grandmother judge officiates
Quote from Dr. Seuss:
Fall in mutual weirdness.
Call it love.
Balcony witnesses from three coasts
Champagne popped at I do
Red boiled crawfish spice the tongue
Poboys, Zapp’s chips, Heath bar cookies
Beer in a pirogue
Spin me around one more time
So much Joy!
–Margaret Simon
With this poem, I got to be there….thank you for sharing such a joy filled moment.
WOW! Sounds like a beautiful day, and I enjoyed looking at the pictures. 🙂 Thanks for capturing such a beautiful moment in a special way.
I saw fb pics yesterday. What a wonderful wedding. Did the balloons just hover? Can you explain? I love how you get them to do this. This wedding. Gorgeous. Has its own style. Fur? Hope for more photos. Happy for all and love your poetic capture!! I learn so much from you, Margaret!
Joy in every line! What a great day for you, your daughter, and guests.
It looks like a great party and your list poem captures the joy! So glad the storm stopped and you were about to be outside with all the festivities.
Gorgeous pictures, Margaret! The list was a nice culminating touch to the festivities! Hope she adds it to her wedding book…or whatever they have nowadays!
Perfection! The poem captures so much and the pictures… beautiful love. Congratulations.
Looks like an absolutely beautiful day!! Like several others, I’m fascinated by those balloons. We need a slice about them!
Carol, one of the few fights we had were over those balloons. In the end, my husband was the hero and he went to pick them up. Let’s just pretend it was all good.
You captured the beauty, joy, and love! So happy for you all.
This was definitely a beautiful wedding and you captured it wonderfully.
So fun to peek in on another daughter’s wedding! Love the pics and your poem is perfect! Love the Dr. Seuss quote.
